Industrial Soundproofing
We provide high performance industrial soundproofing solutions for all types of factory and building throughout the UK. Our solutions have proved highly successful over the last 40 years, achieving very high levels of industrial sound insulation.
We also specialise in fan and industrial machine soundproofing. For noise nuisance affecting residents who live near a noisy factory, you can see details on industrial noise abatement solutions. To reduce workers’ noise exposures there are details of our machine soundproofing solutions on noise reduction at work.
Our industrial soundproofing solutions provide an exceptionally high noise reduction. We have successfully completed a number of demanding building soundproofing projects where a very high sound reduction was required. Some examples of our high quality, high performance building noise insulation projects are given below.
Example: Industrial Soundproofing for Warehouse Office
A company that was converting an industrial warehouse into offices needed a very high performance solution to reduce the very loud noise from aircraft taking off from nearby Heathrow airport and flying low, directly over the office. The sound insulation scheme that we designed for the building achieved such a large noise reduction that visitors often comment favourably and express surprise at how quiet it is in the office. Having experienced the very high noise levels outside, several have asked “how can this be possible?”
Example: Factory Soundproofing for Press Workshop
When a manufacturing company moved their power presses into a different factory, the noise was so loud that they received 20 noise nuisance complaints from nearby residents in the first 30 minutes alone. The industrial sound insulation scheme that our soundproofing company designed for the building achieved such a large reduction that it made the industrial presses inaudible, even during night time. Our factory soundproofing solution was so successful that after installation a local resident asked the noise consultant why he was bothering to measure the noise when the presses were not running. When the noise consultant said they were running, he replied that’s incredible! Fantastic!

Example: Industrial Soundproofing for Metal Clad Building
A company started operations to remove hardened concrete from inside concrete mixer lorry drums using a new technique of blasting the concrete with water at very high pressure (20,000 psi). They built a metal-clad building and put the water jet cleaning equipment and lorry inside. As soon as they started cleaning operations they received noise nuisance complaints from a company that repairs trailers outside in a yard next to their water jet building. The noise in the yard was 94 dBA with the water jet running (9 dBA above the noise at work legal limit), and was so loud that communication was impossible.
We were asked how best to make the metal building soundproof, so we designed a high performance noise insulation treatment. This was highly successful, reducing the noise transmitted outside the building by a massive 30 – 32 dBA. Our building soundproofing scheme achieved such a high sound reduction that the water jet could no longer be heard in the adjacent trailer repair yard. Before, it had been extremely loud. There are more details on soundproof solution for a metal industrial building.
We have 40 years’ experience of providing high performance noise insulation and sound reduction solutions. Our specialist building soundproofing solutions can be applied to all types of factory, compressor house, pump room, fan room, production area, control room, office, training room, board room, etc.

(note: our sound insulation company does not usually provide this service for domestic houses, music venues or small shops. We specialise in commercial & industrial buildings, factories, fans, machines, offices, etc., but we can put you in touch with an installer of domestic soundproofing in St Albans, Hertfordshire).
Factory Soundproofing
Factory soundproofing can be very expensive due to the large size of industrial buildings. We carry out diagnostic tests to determine how much noise is transmitted from each building element, including the roof, walls, etc. Then based on these tests we carefully tailor the factory soundproofing treatment to provide the amount of noise reduction needed at each sound frequency and at minimum cost. This means applying the treatment to the optimum locations and using the optimum area of coverage. Due to the large size of the buildings, this process can save customers thousands of pounds.
Case Study : We saved a company £800,000 on industrial soundproofing for a factory building.

Industrial Machine Soundproofing
We offer a much wider than normal range of solutions to noise problems. Whereas other noise control companies only provide sound insulation schemes for buildings, we offer a range of machine soundproofing solutions as well. Having such a wide variety of solutions from which to choose can provide our customers with major benefits that include large cost savings and a much higher noise reduction.
Machine soundproofing to comply with the noise at work regulations is an area that we specialise in. We have successfully reduced the noise of all types of industrial machine. Based on 40 years’ experience, our solutions have proved highly popular due to their low cost and high noise reduction. We are also specialists in machine soundproofing to resolve noise nuisance complaints from nearby residents. This includes compressors, fans (which are a common cause of noise nuisance) and all other types of equipment and machine.
Our industrial machine soundproofing solutions can be applied in factories across all types of industry and all areas of the UK.

Factory Fan Soundproofing
Our industrial fan soundproofing solutions have solved numerous noise nuisance problems where residents were complaining about noise from a nearby factory. We have some specialist fan sound insulation solutions which provide a much higher noise reduction than commonly available sound control methods. Consequently we have often solved noise nuisance problems after noise control methods from other companies were tried but which failed to provide sufficient noise reduction to prevent further noise nuisance complaints. In addition, our fan sound insulation solutions often provide large cost savings compared with more common noise control methods. For more details, see fan soundproofing.
Example: Conference and training rooms can suffer from irritating and distracting low frequency drones or rumbles from heating and ventilation (HVAC) fans. This occurs because the low frequency performance of a conventional silencer (the usual acoustic insulation solution) is poor. In contrast, our advanced sound reduction solutions are highly effective at low frequencies, often eliminating drones and rumbles completely.
Another benefit of our industrial fan sound insulation solutions is that they generate very little resistance to airflow. This contrasts with a conventional silencer where high noise reductions are often achieved at the cost of high resistance, which can impair fan performance or increase energy consumption due to the higher fan speeds required.
